FAQs
How does The Mother Ship use donations?
The Mother Ship, Inc. fills the gap between available community resources and unique special needs caregiver needs. This includes, but is not limited to, caregiver events and seminars, resource sharing, gift cards for respite, unique caregiver needs, caregiver self-improvement, and recovery services such as those described in the Caregiver R&R program.
Services provided to caregivers are done so after thorough review and board approval.
How are you funded?
The Mother Ship is primarily funded through private donations and fundraising events. Occasionally, the organization is eligible and applies for foundation or other grants.
Can my donation be earmarked for a specified caregiver?
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we are not able to fundraise for individuals and therefore cannot guarantee funds will be directed to a specific individual(s). We are often contacted by community members who want to give and are eager to nominate parents who need help. We understand how difficult it is to reach out for help and encourage our community to share The Mother Ship message with parents who may be in need. We welcome all special needs caregivers to contact us to discuss their special needs and how we may be able to help.
Can I set up a monthly planned giving amount?
Absolutely! We welcome donations at any time. Simply click Donate Now button and check the box to make your gift a monthly donation.
